Mulesoft ESB is the runtime engine of Anypoint Platform, a Java-based enterprise service bus (ESB) and integration platform that lets developers connect applications swiftly and efficiently, allowing them to exchange data.

The messages are picked up from queue with the help of inbound flows of mule transformed using MessageTransformers of Mule and processed in the system.
Later it is processed and conveyed to the other system using mulesoft outbound queues.
